Professional Baseball Instruction is thrilled to announce that our own Mike Aviles - who coaches with PBI during the off-season, was promoted to the Major Leagues by the Kansas City Royals on May 30! "PBI is thrilled by the news," says PBI President Doug Cinnella. Mike's a hard worker and deserves this shot." Mike played in all four games in a recent series against the Yankees at the Stadium where he collected his first Major League Hit!

PBI congratulates William Paterson University's Mike Guadango on being named to the ECAC Metro Region Baseball All-First Team squad for the 2nd straight season. Mike also became the 29th American Baseball Coaches Association All-American in the program's history May 27 when the sophomore outfielder was named to the 2008 ABCA/Rawlings All-America Second Team.

Meanwhile, the Cinderella story of the Mahwah Thunderbird high school team finally came to an end with an 11-8 loss to Allentown in the finals of the NJ State Tournament. The Thunderbirds, under the tutelage of PBI's Jeff Remo and Doug Cinnella, beat Dumont in the opening round, and then stunned 18-4 North Warren in the 2nd round!. Meanwhile, the Chatham Cougars - participants in an intensive pre-season workout led by PBI's Mike Marchiano and Jim Monaghan - knocked off Rutherford in their first round meeting before being eliminated in the 2nd round.

Professional Baseball Instruction congratulates some of the area's top players who have trained with PBI on being selected in the recent 2008 Major League First-Year Player Draft - Steven Caseres (LA Dodgers), Michael Dennhardt (Seattle Mariners), Shooter Hunt (Minnesota Twins), Patrick Lehman (Minnesota Twins), Brendan Lobban (Cincinnati Reds), Eric Pfisterer (Cincinnati Reds) and Steven Proscia (Minnesota Twins).

PBI 17U SELECT EAGLES

Professional Baseball Instruction is taking its acclaimed Eagles program to new heights! The 17U PBI Eagles is designed as a high caliber high school tournament team that will expose players to numerous college recruiters and professional scouts throughout the season. The 17U Eagles features an approximate 55 game schedule from June thru October. We will face the best teams on the East Coast from Massachusetts to Virginia and possibly Florida. The majority of our games will be played in New Jersey & New York.

The 17U Eagles are currently playing in the ACEBL for the summer which features "blue chip" players from around the state. The team is also attending national tournaments. These tournaments will play a big role in the college recruiting process; this is when we will start to see many college coaches present at our games. PBI LEAGUE NEWS - SUMMER LEAGUE IS UNDERWAY

The PBI Baseball League is now underway at all age levels. The PBI Baseball League offer 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U and high school levels of play in the spring, summer and fall. Complete details on the PBI Baseball League and the ECTB/USSSA affiliation can be found here.

PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL INSTRUCTION ANNOUNCES NEW DATES FOR THE PBI SQUIRTS BASEBALL PROGRAM

Professional Baseball Instruction’s Squirts Baseball Program has been a big hit with both children and their parents. It’s a baseball clinic designed for the ultimate rookie - players between the ages of 3 and 5 who are being exposed to the Game of Baseball for the first time. This organized series is a non- competitive, six-week long session designed to teach players and their parents the role of baseball in a young one's life. Squirts is now offered on Saturdays, too! Thanks for taking the time to check out Professional Baseball Instruction. Baseball has been a life-long passion for me and I look forward to imparting that love of the game on your child as we enter our 15th year of baseball and softball training. Our summer baseball instruction camps are in full swing; with your help, PBI has taken youth baseball instruction to a higher level than ever before. Whether you've joined a camp or clinic, or have hit in our state-of-the-art batting cages, your friendship and support is what makes all of this possible. I believe, more than ever, that the PBI facility and staff are by far the finest in New Jersey and quite possibly the entire United States.

One of the things I am most proud of here at PBI is the number of local high school and college players who have trained here at PBI over the years who were just chosen in the Major League First Year Draft. I honestly believe that PBI offers the best high school training programs around - we're talking Major League-quality training! And our elite 17U Eagles program for top high school baseball players is specifically designed to get these players exposure to colleges and professional scouts.

There have been many significant changes throughout the years here at PBI. 2008 is shaping up to be our biggest year ever with PBI redesigning our camp and clinic formats to allow for more coach-to-player interaction. We truly believe that you will notice and appreciate the difference. Our quality coaching staff is the finest available and continues to raise the bar day after day, year after year on youth baseball instruction.
