The PBI 14U Eagles Red are the Bigs League 14u AAA Spring 2014 Champions!
The PBI Eagles rallied for an exciting 2-1, 9-inning win over the Fairfield Pirates in the Bigs League Spring 2014 Championship Game on Sunday June 22 in Fairfield.
The Eagles did not score until the bottom of the seventh inning, at which point they were trailing 1-0. Following a one-out walk, first basemen Frank Spano stole second base and advanced to third on an error by the short stop. Danny McNally followed with a two-strike sacrifice fly to get then tying run across.
Relief pitchers Jack Brodsky and Robbie Appello were able to strand five Pirates in scoring position in innings six through nine after five strong innings from starter Danny McNally.
EH Davis Gallagher drove in the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game after singles from Joe Emerson and Connor Casey.
The Eagles finished the Bigs League 14u AAA Spring Season with a 10-2-1 record.
